Pain Management

Relieving Pain: Effective Techniques and Solutions

Healthcare providers assist individuals in controlling various types of pain through a tailored pain management plan.

With a pain management plan, healthcare providers support individuals in controlling various types of pain. This plan involves injecting medicine into specific areas to reduce joint, tendon, or bursa pain and swelling, with ultrasound guidance. The ultrasound helps the radiologist locate the target area precisely, and after cleaning the area, a local anesthetic is applied. The doctor then uses a fine needle to deliver the right amount of medicine to the target area, making it a safe and effective solution to ease pain and boost recovery.

Cortisone Injections

Pain management plan: Healthcare providers help manage all kinds of pain. Pain management injections, guided by ultrasound, reduce joint/tendon/bursa inflammation & pain. A local anesthetic is used, then a fine needle administers medication to the target area. Cortisone, a corticosteroid, is used for fast anti-inflammatory relief with minimal discomfort.
Preparation: For spine procedures: Discontinue blood thinners (Coumadin/Warfarin/Heparin) 3 days before exam after consulting doctor. Other blood thinners only need to be discontinued for 1 day. Get a morning “STAT” INR blood test done the day before exam and results will be obtained.
